Iron Lady Judge on Ampatuan Case

The lady judge handling the multiple murder charge against Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan will continue to hear the case.
This after Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes junked for lack of merit the motions filed by Ampatuan lawyers asking her to inhibit from hearing the charges.
In her Mar. 18 order, Reyes denied the Recusation and Supplemental Recusation lodged by Ampatuan’s lawyer Sigfrid Fortun.
The Ampatuan camp earlier alleged misconduct in disregarding simple evidentiary rule and purported bias against the accused on the part of Reyes.
But Solis-Reyes ruled that mere allegations of bias "are not enough in the absence of clear and convincing evidence to overcome the presumption that the judge will undertake his noble role to dispense justice.”
