Gloria won't step down - Erap

The camp of former President Joseph Estrada has expressed doubts that President Arroyo will step down after June 30 amid fears of a failure of elections and a military takeover.
“Mrs. Arroyo’s assurance on stepping down is worth nothing, and almost everyone finds this highly unbelievable if we are to go by any of her past actions. For this reason, we must all share in the responsibility of vigilance until the very minute that a new president is sworn in," said Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino spokesman Ralph Calinisan.
Calinisan said Mrs. Arroyo had already broken her promises on several occasions, which made Palace pronouncements that she will vacate her post doubtful.
“And when we add to this her decision to run as representative of Pampanga’s second district, her administration’s backdoor manipulation of Congress’s moves to amend the constitution, and her clear promise not to run for president in 2003 during Rizal Day celebrations in Baguio — a promise she later broke — we can all clearly see that the lady may not go quietly into the night as we all want her to when her term expires,” he said.
